Frequently Asked Questions

ALL persons are required to present a valid passport or other documents as determined by the Department of Homeland Security.  All members of your party should travel with a passport with a validity date of at least six months past the date of your departure from the island. International flights arrive into St. Lucia’s Hewanorra International Airport (UVF), located in Vieux Fort, approximately 75 minutes from the resort. Regional carriers fly into St. Lucia’s George F.L. Charles Airport (SLU) located about 10 minutes from the resort.

No, the nearest bank is located down the road in Choc, a five minute walk away. The resort is able to offer you cash from your debit or credit card in local currency, the Eastern Caribbean Dollar, however we charge a 15% fee for this service.

Yes you may, but you must arrange it with Guest Services in advance. There are daily charges applicable if you wish to have someone to join you for the day or the evening. Guest Services will happily detail the charges and make the arrangements for you.

Family Suites can accommodate up to 5 adults or 2 adults + 4 children (under 11). The Premium Double rooms, One Bedroom Ocean View Suites and One Bedroom Garden View Suites can accommodate up to three adults or two adults + 2 children. Garden View  and Beachfront rooms can accommodate up to 3 adults or 2 adults + 1 child. Ocean View and Deluxe Ocean View rooms can accommodate 2 adults.

Typically, the view. The Garden View rooms are set amongst peaceful tropical gardens without a beach or water view. All other upper categories afford ocean or beach views. The Deluxe Ocean View and Suite categories are located hillside with panoramic views of the sea, and feature upgraded decor and furnishings.

Beachfront Rooms are in Block 500-700. Ocean View Rooms are located on upper floors of blocks 100-400 and 800.

Late check out from your room can be arranged at an additional cost, subject to availability on the day of your departure. This can be arranged by reception. The cost is US$65.00 PLUS VAT until 5pm.

Please note: shower rooms are available for use at a nominal fee of US$20.00 PLUS VAT. Availability of a shower room is subject to hotel occupancy and room availability and can be booked for 30 minute slots on day of departure.

All rooms have King-sized beds with a rollaway option for a third person/child, except Premium Double rooms which have two double beds. The suites have a King-sized bed with a double pull-out sofa bed in the living room to accommodate a third person or two children. Twin-sized rollaway beds are available upon request at an additional cost of US$20 per night, but cannot be placed in Premium Double, Deluxe Ocean View or One Bedroom Suite categories.

Cribs are available upon request at no charge.

Fully modified disabled rooms, such as you may find in the United States, are not available. Ground floor rooms are available. However, some areas and facilities of the resort may not be accessible to disabled persons.

All of our rooms are non-smoking. Smoking is permitted on personal patios/balconies (with the door closed please). Housekeeping will be happy to provide you with an ashtray for your patio or balcony.

Smoking is NOT permitted in any public area that is covered or enclosed, or in & around dining areas. Guests may smoke in open air spaces, expect at the Plum Tree Pool & Grill as this is a designated children’s area. Smokers are asked to consider other guest when smoking at all times, and please use the ashtrays provided.

A connection charge of $3(USD) will be charged to your room. Calls to the US AND UK are approximately $15(USD) for the first 5 minutes, and approx. $5(USD) per minutes after. Rates may be subject to change.

Yes, each room has an un-stocked mini-fridge.

No, but the time can always be found on Channel 2 on the television.

Hairdryers, irons and ironing boards are provided in every room.

All guest rooms have direct-dial telephones with worldwide service. Fax services are also available at the resort.

Only the Suites have ceiling fans.

All of our guest rooms include both North American and UK-style electrical outlets with 220 Volts and 110 Volts.

Yes, it is. The safe key and lock will be handed to you upon check-in for some rooms, while others offer electronic safes.

Yes, the tap water is safe to drink. Bottled water is also available, however, is not included in all-inclusive package. Bottled water can be purchased from the Gift Shop.

Dinner reservations are required for evening dining at Morgan’s Pier, Bambou, Tree Tops Pizza & Pasta and Le Jardin. Reservations are not required for Palms Restaurant. The dinner reservations desk located in the Lobby is open from 8am-3pm daily.

We have recently put a new dinner reservations policy in place for the benefit of all guests:

  1. All guests will have dinner at The Palms Restaurant on their day of arrival.
  2.  On the morning following arrival, guests may book each of the a la carte restaurants once over the course of the next seven days, at the Reservations Desk located in the Lobby. Le Jardin can be booked as many times as desired, which has a US35.00 per person upcharge.
  3. Guests can then also inquire each day if any of the restaurants have any tables available for that evening, and may then dine again at any of the a la carte restaurants for as many times as they wish, subject to availability.
  4. If your stay is for 14 days or more, you may repeat this process each week.
  5. If you do not wish to dine at one of the restaurants when we make your first three bookings, you cannot substitute one restaurant for another.
  6. All restaurants close one night per week.
  7. Wednesday is Fete Bor La Mer, our fabulous beach party night, with local cuisine & BBQ served to you right on the sand.

We apologize for any inconvenience, but all dinner reservations can only be booked upon arrival to the resort, in accordance with the policy described in the previous question.

For breakfast and lunch, casual resort attire is welcomed. Bathing suits must be covered and fairly dry, and shoes worn at all times. In the evenings, fashionable island attire including dresses, trousers or tailored shorts, and collared shirts are perfect (no cutoffs, short-shorts or t-shirts). Footwear is required, but rubber beach sandals or trainers (athletic sneakers) are not permitted. Dinners at Le Jardin are a bit more upscale, requiring dresses, long pants and collared shirts for men.

Yes, Choc Bay Café is open daily from 6:30am-10:30pm and offers specialty tea and coffee drinks as well as homemade savory and sweet pastries. We also offer full afternoon tea with finger sandwiches and fresh fruit daily from 3:30 pm-4:30pm. In addition, if you missed lunch, Plum Tree Grille is open from 11:00am until 7pm and offers casual fare.

We offer a wide variety of menu and dining choices, which include some vegetable and vegetarian dishes. However, our vegetable and vegetarian dishes may include ingredients that are not vegan, as we do not cater specifically to a vegan diet. Due to the all-inclusive nature of the resort, we are not able to arrange private meetings with the Chef, or create individualized menus or meal plans for our guests. Thank you for your understanding.

We frequently receive questions regarding special dietary needs, restrictions or preferences. In an all-inclusive setting, we are not able to accommodate individually tailored meals for specific guests. We do offer a wide variety of meal choices, which includes salads, fresh fruits and vegetables, and vegetarian options. However, we are not able to cater to specific individual needs such as vegan, gluten free, allergen free, religious observance, or similar custom made dishes.

The Resort is located in a tropical environment. Although the Resort does employ a year round pest control service, the Resort, its owners, employees, agents, insurers, and suppliers shall absolutely not be liable for any claim, injury or illness resulting from exposure to Zika virus, Chikungunya virus, or any other insect-borne virus or tropical illness whatsoever. The Resort’s food and beverage outlets use wholesome ingredients, which may include peanuts, tree nuts, seeds, shellfish, shrimp, seafood, soy, milk, wheat, and other potential allergens. Due to the large scale of the Resort’s food and beverage operations, the Resort cannot guarantee that food items will not come in contact with potential allergens even if a particular food does not normally include such ingredients. Guests with food allergies or dietary restrictions should be advised accordingly and take precautions. The Resort is not able to accommodate individually tailored meals for specific guests based on their individual dietary needs. The Resort and its owners, employees, agents, insurers, and suppliers shall absolutely not be liable for any claim, injury or illness resulting from food allergies or specific dietary needs or requirements.

Yes, several of our restaurants offer a children’s menu, and our younger guests absolutely love the delicious pizzas and desserts at Tree Tops Pizza & Pasta and Plum Tree Grille.

Room Service is available from 10:30am-10:30pm, but it is NOT included in the all-inclusive package. The menu of items and prices can be found in your in-room directory.

No, St. James’s Club Morgan Bay offers six distinct restaurant options: The Palms Restaurant is our buffet option offering bountiful options with an international flare; Bambou offers an Asian Fusion and Contemporary Caribbean menu with wonderful beach and ocean views; Morgan’s Pier offers a seafood grille menu with an open kitchen always featuring fresh options; The Plum Tree Grille offers lighter fare including grilled sandwiches and snacks; Tree Tops Pizza & Pasta offers a variety of made-to-order pasta dishes and oven-fired pizzas; and Le Jardin is our fine dining French bistro providing first-class service with a sophisticated menu.

Le Jardin, our delightful upscale restaurant, offers added service in luxury air-conditioned comfort for a modest surcharge of US$35 per person. The experience is refined and elegant, while our resident pianist and a French inspired menu invoke the romance of the French Caribbean. Le Jardin provides a special atmosphere for guests age 12 and over.

At check-in, guests are required to present valid government-issued identification (passport, driver’s license, ID card) along with a valid major credit card. This helps us confirm your arrival, and helps protect our guests by assisting with our fraud prevention measures. At check-in, a US$350 pre-authorization will be processed on your card to cover any incidental purchases or similar expenses. Incidental purchases may include things like tours, excursions, gift shop purchases, and dining in our specialty restaurant. We understand that not all guests incur additional charges during their stay, but this process all assists the resort with fraud prevention. The pre-authorization is released at check-out, assuming you have not charged any purchases to your room.

Yes, as with all international hotels a credit card or deposit is required at check-in. This is so your on-resort account can be opened, which will let you charge extras to your room account such as spa treatments, souvenirs in the gift shop, tours etc. We authorize all credit cards for US $350 (EC $1,000), the charge is held against your account BUT not taken from your account, and is then cleared upon check out. Cash deposits are also accepted in the same amount. *Please note that credit card holds can take up to a few weeks to clear, depending on your banking institution.

Upgrades (based on availability) are included in some packages; otherwise, inquiries can be made with Reception upon arrival. There is an extra fee per night for room upgrades, charged locally to the resort.

Yes, complimentary Wi-Fi is available in the Lobby and Sunset Lounge areas with access through your own personal device. Wi-Fi is also available in Deluxe Ocean View rooms, One Bedroom Garden View Suites and One Bedroom Ocean View Suites (blocks 900-1200) for a fee. The cost is US$10/day or $50/week + 15% VAT, paid locally to the resort.

Should you arrive at the resort after 9:30pm, some cold food items will be placed in your room for you, as we are advised of any late arrivals.

Wednesday nights are our Beach Party where our managers meet & mingle with guests from 7:00-9:00pm.

Our Kids Club operates from 9:00am-6:30pm for potty trained children ages 2-11. We also offer an evening program for children ages 4-11 from 7:30pm -10:30pm. Hours are subject to change.

Yes, babysitting is available through the Kids Club for an additional cost per hour, which must be paid locally to the babysitter (it cannot be charged to your room account).

We have a variety of nightly entertainment, including Karaoke, disco nights, local dancers, fire eaters, Reggae groups, Calypso bands, steel drums, guest participation contests and much more!

Evening entertainment is from 9:00pm to 11:00pm daily in the Sunset Lounge.

The capital city of Castries is located about 10 minutes from the resort, and the popular Bay Walk Shopping Mall is located 15 minutes north of the resort in Rodney Bay.

Yes, we have a duty free Gift Shop on property for sundry items, as well as our own local vendor’s mall for assorted artisan goods and crafts.

There is a great selection of restaurants in and around nearby Rodney Bay and Gros Islet. Guest Services would be happy to make suggestions and provide you with sample menus.

Yes, beach towels are provided in your room.

Yes, waterskiing, wakeboarding and tubing are available complimentary at St. James’s Club Morgan Bay.

We offer snorkeling trips daily with snorkeling gear included, or you can borrow gear from the Watersports shack to use at your leisure.

No, we do not offer parasailing or jet skiing through the resort.

We do not offer diving on property, but diving is very popular in St. Lucia, primarily on the south coast. Dive arrangements can be made via our Tours Desk.

Golf is not included but is available at nearby St. Lucia Golf Club where our guests receive preferred rates. Contact the Tours Desk to arrange your tee-time.

St. Lucia Golf Club is located in Gros Islet, approximately 15 minutes from the resort.

There are four astro-turf tennis courts; two are flood lit for night play.

Our ethos at St. James’s Club Morgan Bay is a fairly simple one: we make sure everything we do, where possible, is positive for our planet. That means being sustainable across the board. We focus on sustainability in all areas, from energy usage, recycling, sourcing, conservation, as well as waste management and employment.

Food Sourcing – All our products are of a higher welfare system, sourced locally, and free-range OR organic when possible. We promote sustainable food – working with local farmers and producers of goods, and we are proud to champion sustainable management of St. Lucia’s water for precious marine resources. We create a sustainable food economy – from nature to plate.

Waste – We actively manage our stock to successfully reduce the amount of food waste we produce every year. Through careful menu design and applying our ‘no waste’ ethos, we use as much of a food item as possible and recycle everything we can. We manage our commercial waste organically on property, as well as all of our sewage, turning waste sewage into water for the grounds and gardens.
Water – Being on an island, conserving water is critical to life. We implement many procedures and practices to reduce our water consumption, and we ask all guests to join us in this. We also have our own water purification plant on site, thereby eliminating the need to import potable water.

Carbon-Cutting – Our resort is constantly changing how we can improve on our carbon foot print, and all modifications, updates and upgrades that we do take this into account. We have also implemented a large range of energy efficiency measures in order to reduce our carbon foot print, including using solar energy when possible, employing low energy burning equipment, and also considering new and innovative measures to reduce carbon omissions.

Community Outreach – Whether it’s organizing litter clean-ups or supporting the local Marine network, working with children in Green education, and taking an active role in the St. Lucia Hotel Association, we cherish our homeland and take an active role in the community.

We need to ensure that our majestic island and all of its resources are here for future generations to enjoy! Whether it’s training our staff in sustainable policies, providing permanent year-round employment for over 500 local residents, or protecting our country’s greatest assets, we are dedicated to preserving St. Lucia’s beauty.

We have a highly skilled tennis pro on-site, and group lessons are included. You can also book private lessons for a fee.

Car rentals are available from the rental desk at the resort. Daily rates start at approximately US$90.

Our parking lot is located near the entrance of the resort and is available for self-parking. Cars are left at owner’s risk.

Yes, we have a Tour Desk at the resort where you can book off-property excursions. The desk is open from 8.00am to 4.00pm seven days a week.

Absolutely! We have a wide range of excursions available. The Tour Desk will provide all the information you need and will reserve the trips for you.

There are many excursions and boat tours for day sails around St. Lucia. There are no recommended ferry services to other islands from St. Lucia.

Not directly on property, but the Tour Desk can assist you with booking locally.

The Guest Services Staff will be happy to arrange this for you at a cost.

Although this is not something we like to hear, we have a Duty Manager on call to assist you 24 hours a day. Simply ask for them at the Front Desk. We also have a Guest Relations Manager, located in the lobby from 9:00am to 6:00pm daily, who can resolve any concern or question you may have. The General Manager is available to you as well, and if you are not happy with the assistance you receive from others, his door is always open!

If you do not have prearranged airport transfers, have no fear. Airport transfers can be prearranged by Elite Island Resorts or your travel agent for direct bookings ONLY. Also, transfers can be arranged locally with our preferred transfer service, Hilary Transfers and Tours, upon request. You can book online at http://www.hilarytransfersandtours.com. Hilary has a fully staffed booth just outside of Customs at Hewanorra International Airport to assist you upon arrival. Transfer service is available to and from both Hewanorra International Airport (UVF) in Vieux Fort and George F.L. Charles Airport (SLU) in Castries airports.
